Our last post was a picture of our Virginia house! A lot has changed since then. We've moved from coast to coast, now have a self proclaimed "war hero" in the family, had one child move out and now move back in, well there are just too many things to list! The most exciting for us came an unexpected promotion! While we where sitting in VA planning the next three years of our life (no military family should ever do that) Ryan found out he was promoted to colonel early. This was so unexpected I told him to make sure he wasn't looking at the list of people that didn't get promoted ( I know real supportive wife). Not long after that we where told we where moving to sunny California for a year. Oh and please do ask what Ryan's doing here cause after a year I still can't explain it to anyone. When our next assignment came out earlier this year we where shocked again to find out we're moving to Hill AFB, Utah (once again don't ask what he'll be doing, no clue). So here we go again, time for endless fights over the walkie talkies, broken furniture, and opening those boxes that haven't been opened in the last six years. Here we go again starting new schools, new hairdressers, new friends, and learning to drive in the snow allll over again. Here we go again lots of new adventures on the road ahead of us and we wouldn't have it any other way! Oh and P.S. we've decided we may live somewhere long enough to buy and new house....so here it is.

I know it's been over a month since I've blogged but, it's been a busy month! Or maybe it just seems that way. We're starting to get all of Drew's last minute things done for graduation. Invitations, cap and gown, pictures, etc. etc. Now all he has to do is pass! He went to his senior prom a few weeks ago and seem to have a great time. The best part for him was his two dates. The best part for me was he was home before 2am and I didn't even give him a time. I didn't tell him I didn't get home from my senior prom til 5am. We'll keep that our little secret.

Noah and Rachel have started another season of baseball, and they love it. I enjoy watching them too. Rachel loves to get out there and show those boys whose boss as her daddy would say. And although Noah scored the winning run last night he was worried about nothing but nachos from the snack bar....that's my boy! Didn't want to hear good game nothing, just consumed with his nachos.

Finally, we got some news about our move. We are going to......Washington D.C. This is not something we where thrilled with at first, but it is growing on us. What military family shouldn't get the chance to see the nation's capital? We always try to embrace each move we make, and know there is a reason God is sending us there...... maybe it's the awesome house I found ( above) I can't wait to have all the extra room. The kids school is at the end of the street along with a beach everyone goes to in the summer. The house in on a lake and oh yeah it comes with a huge pontoon boat! We will be very sad to leave all of our Georgia friends but this may soften the blow!

Two of a kind

So far March has been a very successful month for us. The kids both managed to win crazy hat day a school!!! This has been a goal of theirs for the past couple of years. They worked very hard on their hats, ha!

Noah won the Pinewood for his troop but, didn't win the district. That was an exciting all day event at the wonderful Galleria mall. We did learn something out of this event though........we have a couple of sore losers on our hands. We're working on that though.

Rachel has had two exciting events so far this month. She got to visit the fire station with her Daisy troop. She really enjoyed this and, the firemen where great to participate in the friendship circle at the end. She was also chosen as one of two students out of her class to display a piece of art work at the Galleria Mall. She is a great artist!!! We are so proud of her, and she is equally proud of herself. There's no shame in the Britton household!!

February 2009

I can't believe this month is almost over, and I don't think I have blogged at all. I do have to say there hasn't been to much excitement in the Britton house. Noah did have a procedure done to see what has got his tummy in knots, we still don't know the results. I was very proud of him though he did great the had to put him to sleep, and I think he was more interested in what was going on than nervous about anything.

We made it through Valentines Day......Rachel got some new accessories and an outfit for her American Girl doll, Noah of course a video game and Drew cash. So everyone was happy. Ryan sent me a charm for my Pandora bracelet it was called " along life's paths" and is silver with a gold line and a diamond it's symbolic for us because our song is Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. So I thought that was sweet.

This week was a double whammy for scouts. Noah got his wolf badge, and was very proud of it. I made Drew pin it on him because they make the parents go up there and always do something weird like let the kids draw on your face. So I told Drew he was the fill in dad. Rachel had her tea party for Daises. They learned all about manners. We made flower shaped cookies and put them in a flower pot. Very easy and the girls seemed to get a kick out of them.

Finally Rachel had her school program. For some reason my kids take their kindergarten program as a chance to get all their dance moves. For Noah he busted out with the robot.

My Tummy Hurts!

So it's been a few days.....a long few days. Rachel has finally decided she misses dad. And it's hitting hard. She doesn't want to go to school, play basketball, or do anything that doesn't have me in sight. She seems to have a mysterious "tummy ache" all the time. I know I shouldn't say this because I'm the mommy but it's getting really ANNOYING!!!! Her teacher's have been great this week and she seems to be snapping out of it. We never know what the future holds though. We just take it one day at a time.
Ryan did send this picture of him with David Cooke. He thought that would cheer her up and he was right! She said this is so awesome, my first autograph. She seems to forget about Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and all the other Disney autographs she got. I ask myself is she a big 6 or a small 16?

So I decided to be mom of the year and actually take my kids in for physicals. As usual Rachel healthy as a horse. Noah......well, not so much. It just so happens he has every old man ailment known to mankind. HA! We have to go in for a sleep study due to his snoring. Now I try not to complain about my life a whole lot because I know I am truly blessed. But how in the world can the military send my husband 5 billion miles away ( at least that's what it seems like) and expect me to go spend the night at a hospital and get Rachel and Drew up for school. All so they can approve a visit to the ENT. CUT ME SOME SLACK SEND ME TO THE ENT!!! Okay Bry I'm not allowed to complain for another week.

A Day in the life

I wanted to start a blog so Ryan, who as many of you know is deployed for the next 51/2 months, could keep up with what is going on in the house.

Well, first off we've finally parted ways with black beauty. Those of you that have known us for awhile know that this is what has gotten Ryan allllll the ladies. NOT!!!! This was his first new car he bought on his own it was a 1990 black Toyota Celica. Let me just say it isn't an easy thing for him to do. We are very proud of him. I will tell him what Rachel told Drew when he heard the discouraging news. Drew, your life will go on. On the flip side my parents are going to give Drew their "spare" car for graduation, so no worries about having to go buy a new one. Yeah!!!
